Between April 9th and 15th The Royal Wind Music recorded their fifth CD for the Spanish label Lindoro, featuring masterworks from the Italian Renaissance. The programme reflects the richness and originality of this repertoire, including instrumental settings of songs and motets, elegant and virtuosic dances and canzoni and arrangements of ingenious keyboard music. The CD release is planned for spring 2011.

On Saturday April 10th Daniël Brüggen made a video recording of three highlights of the programme: the motet Diligam te Domine by Ascanio Trombetti, a Praeambulum Legatura by Girolamo Frescobaldi and Gagliarda Seconda detta La Scabrosetta by Neapolitan composer and organist Giovanni Maria Trabaci. Brüggen also interviewed Paul Leenhouts about the musical ideals, repertoire, instruments and working methods of The Royal Wind Music. The result, a documentary of approximately 12 minutes, will be presented this coming summer.
